5-Minute Celebration of Others

Time needed: 5 minutes

Setting: After noticing someone's achievement/effort/quality

Purpose: Building positive relationships through genuine appreciation

1. Noticing Deeply (90 seconds)

What: Pause to identify specific quality/action/achievement in someone. Go beyond obvious to notice effort, character strength, or growth shown. Write down exactly what you observed.

Notice: What particularly moves or impresses you, how seeing their quality affects you, any resistance to celebrating others

Why: Develops appreciation mindset, strengthens observation skills, creates authentic foundation for recognition

2. Active Celebration (180 seconds)

What: Choose how to share your appreciation:

- Write specific note naming impact

- Share observation directly

- Tell others about their contribution

- Create small gesture of recognition

Notice: How it feels to celebrate another, any hesitation about expressing appreciation, their response

Why: Strengthens social bonds, amplifies positive emotions, builds supportive culture

3. Ripple Effect (90 seconds)

What: Reflect on how this person's quality/achievement might inspire others. Consider one way to help their positive impact spread wider.

Notice: Possibilities for expanding influence, how celebration creates momentum

Why: Extends positive impact, builds community strength, encourages culture of appreciation

Closing: Take one breath sending them silent good wishes

Notice: How celebrating others affects your own state

Why: Completes positive interaction cycle
