3-Minute Character Strengths Activation

Time needed: 3 minutes (1 minute each)

Setting: Any time, anywhere

Purpose: Intentionally engaging perspective and curiosity strengths

1. Perspective Power (60 seconds)

What: Take current situation/challenge. Ask:

- "How might this look in one month?"

- "What would my wisest self say?"

- "What's another way to see this?"

Write/think three different viewpoints without judging

Notice: How shifting perspective affects body tension, what new possibilities emerge, where wisdom naturally arises

Why: Broadens viewpoint, reduces fixed thinking, accesses inner wisdom

2. Curiosity Catalyst (60 seconds)

What: Choose nearby object/person/situation and:

- Ask three "I wonder..." questions

- Find something you've never noticed

- Generate one new question about familiar thing

Notice: Where curiosity creates energy, how questions open possibilities, what naturally draws your interest

Why: Awakens exploratory mindset, reduces assumptions, energizes through discovery

3. Perspective-Curiosity Blend (60 seconds)

What: Think of pending decision/situation, then:

- Get curious about your initial perspective ("Why do I see it this way?")

- View your questions from different angles

- Let curiosity guide you to new viewpoint

Notice: How these strengths interact, which leads naturally to other, where they create insight

Why: Builds strength synergy, deepens understanding, enables fresh approaches

Closing: Note one insight from this practice
